The Sprinter Travel is the top model in the Mercedes-Benz range of touring coaches < 8 t. This 7.7 m long minibus has a distinctive body with a panoramic windscreen, double-glazed panoramic side windows and a rear wall in bus configuration with a luggage flap. The test bus, including bumpers and detachable parts, is painted in “pearl silver metallic”.

Its extensive and luxurious standard equipment includes a cockpit air conditioning system, convector heater, air-sprung rear axle, retarder, double-glazed side windows, driver’s suspension seat and “Travel Star Xtra” seats. Optional extras include bi-xenon headlamps, a reversing camera, audio DVD system, passenger compartment air conditioning system, refrigerator and a courier seat.

The permissible gross vehicle weight of 5.45 t ensures adequate payload reserves, also in view of the spacious luggage capacity of 2 cu. m.

Passengers access the Sprinter Travel via a single swing-out door to take their places on 15 “Travel Star Xtra” seats featuring “Luxline” upholstery, adjustable backrests and leather head sections. The “Harmonia ship tropical” flooring further enhances the comfortable features in the interior. Excellent performance is ensured by the OM 642 direct-injection V6 turbodiesel engine with 140 kW (190 hp) in combination with the 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic transmission.
